Pirate Swimmers Excel at WIAA Division 2 State Championships

The Aquatic Center was buzzing with excitement as the Pirate swim team showcased their talent at the WIAA Division 2 State Championships. With standout performances and record-breaking swims, our athletes made a splash and brought pride to the Pirate community.

The 200-yard Medley Relay team, consisting of Zachary Falkenberg, Charlie Prince, Caden Hafele, and Noah Blavat, delivered a strong showing, finishing 16th with a final time of 1:50.91. Falkenberg led off with a 50-yard backstroke split of 28.76, followed by Prince’s impressive 50-yard breaststroke split of 25.94. Hafele contributed a 50-yard butterfly split of 29.10, and Blavat anchored the relay with a 50-yard freestyle split of 27.11. Their teamwork and precision highlighted the depth of the Pirate swimming roster.

Charlie Prince emerged as a star of the meet, earning top honors in individual events. Prince secured 4th place in the 100-yard Butterfly with a final time of 51.27, shattering his previous school record of 52.01. He also claimed 3rd place in the 100-yard Breaststroke, clocking a blazing 56.93, eclipsing his prior record of 58.69. Earlier this season, Prince also rewrote the record books in the 200-yard Individual Medley, posting a time of 2:01.49 to surpass his previous mark of 2:02.48. His trio of record-breaking performances underscores his exceptional skill and dedication.

The Pirate swim team’s achievements at the State Championships reflect their hard work and commitment throughout the season.
